“You aren't exactly the best judge of what is or isn't dangerous.”

Death. It was a common thing in her life. She wondered if one day it would be peaceful, if one day, there wouldn't be death anymore. She doubted it, like she had with other things. Death was a common thing in life. It wasn't to be dealt with, no reasoning, no hope of living forever, expect in some cases, where some are damned for life. It wasn't a blessed gift if you were damned for all eternity. She wondered at times, what was it like to be dead. Would it be better? Or would it be worse? She always wondered, but she never lingered on the thought for long, she always thought of other things. Day by day, she wondered if she was going to die sooner or later. Today, tomorrow, next week, death could come. Serenity didn't think about it too much, but she lingered on it when it came to her mind, like it was now as she held onto her mother's necklace, clutching onto it as she stared at her balled up fists. She wondered what did she ever do to deserve this. Her mother never did anything wrong neither did Serena, but what did she do to deserve such a fate without a mother? At times, it felt like Serena was in the pit of hell when it came to her father and brother about girl problems. They never understood anything, at times, she would turn to her sisters, they knew to much for their own innocents. But in a way, life was short, so death comes sooner than the thought of it in your mind. So maybe thats why Serena was thinking about this as she held onto her mother's necklace. That maybe she should enjoy what she has now, instead of taking it for granted and maybe not even getting a chance to say goodbye.
As her eyes darted up to look at the clock, she realized that school was going to start soon and she had been dwelling too much on the past. She sighed placing her mother's necklace around her neck then taking a look in the mirror as she stared into it. As she looked at herself, she was not staring at her reflecting, she was staring at who she was and who she might become. As her father always said, she was becoming her mother in each and every way. She detest that and always brushed it away, never actually believing her father. Clearly, Serenity had no idea she was exactly like her mother on the outside and partly on the inside. She always denied it of course. She never liked to hear it and she hated it so much when she did. Her neighbors, her friends, her family always said it back home. She always gave them an 'i'm gunna kill you' look. At times, people would laugh at her face, thinking that she was just joking. No one ever took her seriously and she wished she had been. Though now she moved here hoping to be more respected. Maybe people wouldn't be so harsh to her. She needed some new friends, maybe she could belong here and have lots of people to be friends with. But she only wished for one friend, a good friend. Thats all she really needed. One good friend would be enough for her, she really never liked asking for much. She was a simple girl, those things were never really for her to ask. She could live with pencil and paper. She usually spent her days doodling and writing music.
She walked over towards her closet, picking out her outfit for the first day of school. She placed on her clothes quickly and then grabbed her bookbag. She then walked over to the microwave, pressing the button, opening the microwave and grabbing out the package of muffins. She grabbed one then placed the package back into the microwave, then made her way out of the house with the muffin in her mouth. She got inside her truck, turning it on then making her way towards school. She knew her father would be awfully mad if he got another phone call home saying she was late to school yet again. Sighing, she drove into the parking lot, parking her car and looking at all the students there as they stared at her car. She gulped and looked down at her feet, wishing to run away. She knew it was her first day and she had to be strong. A new and clean slate, she had to do it, which is why she couldn't be late for a new school. What would her father think? Maybe he wouldn't be thinking when he might kill her again. She didn't want to die at a young age. She was too young to die. Slowly, she made her way out of the car and got her bag out, placing it on her shoulder and making her way to the office. She walked in going towards the lady behind the counter, asking for her schedule. The lady handled it to her right after Serenity gave her name. Sighing, she looked down at her classes. A few honors and the rest regular, just the way she liked it so she wouldn't be so stressed out from all the classes.
She made her way out of there as the lady waved and wished her good luck. Serenity frowned and wondered how she was going to get through the day like this. She couldn't even get a tour of the school. She thought they might not have enough time today, she figured. They wouldn't want to waste time with her when they have more important things to do with there jobs. She didn't mind it, she understood it more than anything. She figured she could ask someone, but she didn't want to get to close to anyone that might kill her. Sighing, she made her way to the courtyard and sat down on a bench, trying to figure out where her classes may be at. She had no clue and she wondered if anyone out there may be able to help her with it. She looked up at all the students and she sighed once again. Her Telepathy powers were a little different, not only she could hear the current thoughts of people but she knew past thoughts as well, making it knowledgeable for her to know. She looked at a girl and focused on her current thoughts as the girl looked at Serenity. 'And I thought i was weird, look at the new girl..such a freak' the girl thought and Serenity frowned. So she was a freak already? She hated first days of school so much. Serenity knew she was a freak, it was in her blood apparently. Her brother, her sisters and her father were all weird. It just so happens that serena was the more stable one in the family, but then again she could seem crazier than her family at times. But most of the time, she was the more sane one.
"First day of school and I'm already crowned as a freak. Congratulations Serenity, your so smooth." she thought sarcastically and then looked back down at her schedule trying to figure out her classes again.
